Meet the Characters of The Pangean Chronicles

Explore the captivating world of The Pangean Chronicles through the eyes of our key characters.

Michael Shaw

Michael Shaw, the hero of our story, serves as a loyal member of The Agency. His background is shrouded in mystery and secrets. Shaw is not a regular agent; he has powers such as impossibly quick reflexes and the incredible ability self heal within seconds of an injury. Throughout the trilogy, Shaw discovers where these abilities come from and the dark and ancient bloodline from which he descends.

He is a loner, preferring his own company, particularly when on missions. He can be cold and ruthless when he wants to be but there is a kind heart hidden beneath the granite exterior.

Mandrake

Mandrake is a supporter of the Dark Lord Satanicus. He hails back to ancient wars and is pivotal to the reunification of Pangea. Mandrake's back story is complex and dark - he was responsible for ensuring that the bloodline of Masshawus was strengthened over the centuries.

Fernando (AKA The Sultan)

Under the guise of the Sultan of Brunei, Fernando, an elder of the Sanctuary, feeds information to assist Shaw and The General.

At the Sanctuary, he is seen as one of the elders and has trained many warriors to fight with their minds as well as their weapons.

He may be small in stature but his powers are not to be underestimated.

Xander and Actillo

Two Santorian warriors are sent out to assist Shaw and his allies. Actillo ages back to the days of the wars against Satanicus and is the brother to the late General Olson. He is wise and powerful and still garners much respect within the circles of influence of The Sanctuary.

Xander was too young to fight in the original wars and was tutored by Lexium until his banishment from the Sanctuary. Although he is many millions of years old, Xander is considered a 'young one' among his Santorian peers.

The General

The General runs The Agency and commands a huge amount of respect from the people who work with him and those around the world. He is a genius and has a deep understanding of the demon world.

The Prince

The Prince is a broken soul who has suffered the loss of his beloved wife.  He is selected by Fernando and Actillo to transport the Book to a safe location. The thinking behind this is a mystery but some believe Fernando felt that the forces of darkness would not suspect a human to transport something so powerful. The Prince is not your typical aristocrat. He was trained as a marine and served in the British army. He is tough, resilient and resourceful.

On his journey, the Prince is joined by the mysterious Punk, an unlikely travelling companion but one who quickly becomes a close friend.

Rosalina, The Queen of the Southern Brethren

Rosalina is the powerful witch queen of the Southern Brethren. At the beginning of the series, Shaw believes her to be an Italian agent but she soon reveals her true self and her awesome powers.

She and her sisters help out the allies of Micheal Shaw throughout the series. She is also in love with Shaw and their relationship grows throughout the trilogy

Captain Jack Olson

The man chosen to lead the army and rise up against the forces of darkness. Like Shaw, he has a long and complex heritage which links all the way back to the ancient wars. The great Sanctorian General Olson is his distant ancestor.

Jack Olson grows as a character throughout the series and proves himself a natural leader of both humans and demons.

The Friends

Tom, Alan, and Claire are three of Michael Shaw's closest friends. They are the only people he will work with on a mission. They all met during their intensive training for The Agency.

Tom is the clown of the group—always cracking jokes and jumping into situations with an almost reckless disregard for the rules. Beneath his jovial persona, Tom is a skilled and dangerous agent whose reflexes and strength are well beyond the average soldier.

Claire is Tom's partner. She is often seen as the voice of reason within the trio. She is a fierce and skilled agent and a crack shot with a sniper rifle. Like Tom, her speed and strength make her a very effective agent.

Alan is a giant of a man and towers over even the tallest humans. It is thought that there is demon blood pumping in his veins but, seeing as he never knew his parents, he has never been able to discover his true origins. His titanic strength makes him a formidable adversary.

The Punk (Sparrow)

The Punk is an intriguing character who joins up with The Prince on his journey to deliver The Book to Cape Wrath. He comes across as a bit of an eccentric hermit.

Even The Punk does not know where he has come from. His body shows signs of abuse from a horrifying childhood, but his memory is patchy at best.

Little does The Punk know that he will play an instrumental role over the course of the series.

Moyels

Moyels, the best friend of Lexium is one of the most loyal and honourable characters in the series. Despite his friend, Lexium's, troubles, he remains at his side for millions of years. He has his sad past which is exposed in The White Castle. Moyels's task was always to watch the bloodline of Masshawus as it grew over the years. He and Lexium were ordered to do this by Cordell himself.

Masshawus

A tragic figure, Masshawus was once a highly respected and loved General of the Sanctorian army. He was the one who managed to incarcerate the dark lord Satanicus in the final days of the ancient wars. Unfortunately, he eventually falls into darkness and spends millions of years building an army and forming a plan to reunite Pangea.

Masshawus is a dark, complex, and conflicted character, and his journey is full of its own challenges.

Will he be able to combine The Book and the Sceptre of Gorath together? If he succeeds, the Dark Lord Satanicus will rise once more.

Sallah Adule

As well as Michael Shaw, Sallah Adule is part of Masshawus' bloodline. It was Mandrake who took the other baby from the battlefield and, under the orders of Masshawus, he took the child to the evil warlock Martyn, where the bloodline was cultivated for millions of years until Sallah Adule was born. He possesses the mark of Pangea, which enables him to wield the Sceptre of Gorath.

Sallah Adule has been Michael Shaw's nemesis for a number of years. He has been behind many of the small demon uprisings and terrorist attacks over the years. However, his one goal is to use the Sceptre of Gorath and harness its power to reunify Pangea.

Alba

The darkest and most frightening character of the series, she has no conscience and will not hesitate to murder and slaughter. She gets pleasure from it. Her greatest strength is manipulation, as Lexium and Moyels discover with devastating consequences.

Like many of the characters, she has an interesting backstory, and her connection to all of the events that occur is pivotal.

Manu

Manu makes his entrance to the series in Book 2 (Darkness Rising). A complex charater, he seeks redemption for the crimes he committed whilst serving Satanicus. He becomes one of the most important characters in the series.

"My name is Manu, and I will have my redemption."

Pandora

Pandora is the queen of the Nymphs. She sides with Olson in book two and lends him her army. Pandora is powerful, and her power rivals even some of the strongest witches.

She and Olson quickly strike up a relationship, which she believes has always been prophesied.
