The Tower - Why do characters refer to a tower when someone dies?
"He has embarked upon his journey to his tower where he will spend eternity in peace. May his journey be a short one."
Within demon societies, it is believed that when someone dies or decides that they have come to the end of their lives they will make their final journey to their Tower. Over the course of a demon's life their tower grows and, depending on how they live their lives, it will be filled with all the things that give them pleasure. The journey to their tower begins the moment a person dies. The length of the journey to their tower is determined by how well they have spent their lives. If a person has led a good and honourable life then their journey to their tower will be shorter and easier. If a person has committed crimes and lived a bad life then their journey can be long, arduous and in some cases eternal.
